Mark Cohen*

Home-based on the fulltime acting faculty at Boston University, MC earned an MFA from The Academy for Classical Acting at The Shakespeare Theatre in Washington DC, an MA at Brown University, and a BA in English at Yale University. Mark also studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, and completed a 2-year training program in the Meisner technique in New York. He has studied independently with such teachers as Michael Moriarty, Christopher Bayes, Milton Katselas, and Maria Aitken. Mark was a professional actor in New York for 15 years, and performed at such theatres as Circle-in-the-Square, Equity Library Theatre, The Gene Frankel Studio Theatre, and The National Arts Theatre. He maintains a special relationship with Brown University where he taught for seven years, was voted The President’s Award for Excellence in Teaching, and where he continues to teach in the summer as Artistic Director for the TheatreBridge Company, one of three affiliated summer theatre programs under the dual sponsorship of Brown and Trinity Repertory Theatre. Mark has directed such plays as Angels in America, Cymbeline, Twelfth Night and The Distance From Here. Since coming to Boston, Mark has performed with the Boston Center for American Performance, Boston Playwright’s Theatre, Brown/Trinity Playwright’s Repertory Theatre, The Etty Project, and Harbor Light Stage.
